Buy, Get, Give and Win!

Alt2_WR_300_250A few months ago I had the pleasure to review a Switch-A-Rooz stuffed animal. In the process of that review, I had the opportunity to learn more about Wild Republic. Recently I found out they are teaming up with Project Night Night, a charitable organization that provides blankets, books and toys to children in homeless shelters across the United States. From November 16 – December 16, all purchases of $35 or more on Wild Republic’s site will get:

 1.       Free shipping,

2.       A free stuffed animal, and

3.       Wild Republic will also donate a stuffed animal to Project Night Night. These stuffed animals will go in special care packages that are provided to children in homeless shelters across the United States.

This holiday season, treat the child in your life and child in a homeless shelter to a wonderful product from Wild Republic. Project Night Night, a 501(c)(3), donates 25,000 Night Night Packages each year to homeless children under 12 hoping to reduce the trauma of this uncertain time in their life and advance the emotional and cognitive well-being of the children served.

To get you started, read below for your chance to win a Switch-A-Rooz stuffed animal and book.

Magnetic Baby Safety Lock Review and Giveaway!

Ah, baby proofing. Eventually, every baby gets curious about what is on the other side of cabinet doors. Sometimes it’s towels, sometimes it’s cleaning products. It’s more than just about getting baby from making a mess, it’s about keeping them away from the harmful things we unfortunately have to have in our homes and keeping little hands from getting pinched.

In our last home, we were able to run a baby lock with cords through the handles, but in our current home, there is nothing to put a lock on. We are renting so drilling holes in the cabinetry is not an option either. I am happy to share the Purple Safety Magnetic Baby Safety Lock with you as a great alternative for when you can’t or don’t want to drill into cabinets while baby proofing.

The Purple Safety Lock comprises 4 keys and a single magnetic lock that can open all of them. They are easy to install yourself with no tools, just a little attention to detail. It’s great for any room in the house and can be put on the top, the side, or where ever it works best for you. They won’t leave marks on furniture and can be removed while being hidden in every day use. The written instructions and video made it easy to follow along to install.

Here is your chance to win a set of 4 locks. Contest ends July 4, 2015, 11:59pm. Good luck! Be sure to keep scrolling and check out the rest of the 4th of July Giveaway Hop!

#SpreadtheLovey Campaign with Baby Jack and Co

It’s almost Memorial Day. Yes, it is a chance to have a little family fun, but more importantly, it’s a chance to reflect and remember the sacrifice of many that chose to serve their country and paid the ultimate price.  While Memorial Day recognizes those that have passed in the line of duty, it’s not that far of a leap for us to also think about all the men and women that serve in the armed forces currently. As the spouse of an active duty member, I hope that Memorial Day always remains a sunny, family-filled, long weekend without any personal connections.

Our military members don’t serve alone. When they are called away, whether it’s the other side if the country or the other side of the world, their families are left behind. In these situations, some children find a lovely item very comforting and reassuring. This Memorial Day weekend, you have a chance to help families that may be in the middle of a long separation. Join the #SpreadTheLovey campaign with Baby Jack and Company and donate $18 to gift a Baby Jack and Company Flag Lovey to a military child. They will ship donations for free to Kindness Reps around the country, including four that work with military families. This weekend, make sure to use code SPREADTHELOVEYTCOP for free shipping and to make your purchase count towards donations to The Carrying On Project.

Baby Jack and Company makes loveys with closed tabs, so that they don’t get stuck or twisted around tiny fingers, and that can clip on to carriers, car seats, and strollers. Based out of Milwaukee, WI, Baby Jack and Company employs a team of moms to make their unique and modern product that grows with your child. Visit Baby Jack and Company to donate a Flag Lovey today. You can also find them on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

This weekend, Baby Jack and Company is going above and beyond by donating a percentage of ALL sales to The Carrying On Project #Military Families. The Carrying On Project provides baby carriers of all styles to military families and I have personally been touched, having received a Catbirdbaby soft structured carrier. It was a huge sanity saver being with an active preschooler and a clingy infant all day. We still use it regularly.

I also recently got to represent The Carrying On Project at a local Operation Homefront Star Spangled Baby Shower in our area where I got to help give away about 45 carriers to military moms! If you are going to a MommyCon event this year (use code DOMESTIC15 for $5 off), be sure to 1) “like” The Carrying On Project on Facebook or Instagram so you can get the secret code she sometimes has for special prizes and 2) be sure to stop by their table and let them know how awesome they are.

The #SpreadtheLovey campaign is being featured by The Baby Guy this weekend. They have teamed up to give FIVE of you a chance to win a lovey of your choice and FIVE to #SpreadtheLovey to a friend or child in need.

Buy a lovey, donate a lovey, or just check everyone out on social media!

We have a chance for you to win one right here, too! Follow the link below to enter to win. This giveaway is open from May 22, 2015 to June 2, 2015, 11:59pm. The winner will be notified by email and have 24 hours to claim their prize. Baby Jack and Company is responsible for prize fulfillment. Good luck!

Cordskinz Review and Hippity Hoppity Giveaway Hop!

cordskinz logo Collage

I was recently contacted by Cordskinz with an opportunity to try out their ingenious little product. Cordskinz are easy to apply tubes that slide on right over the cords of ear buds – any make or model – to keep them from being a tangled mess at the bottom of the your bag.

It’s quite a simple concept but it really has been nice having the skinz on my ear buds. It’s easier to find them and who doesn’t like to personalize their items when it’s easy and convenient? The process was easy. Along with your Cordskinz, the application device comes in an envelope with the instructions. After you line up the pieces, you just gently slide the skinz and the wire of the ear buds along and the tool takes care of the rest. Just a little snip at the end adjusted the skinz length to exactly what I needed.

Best of all, they are only $9.99 each and come in a variety of colors (right now you can get 3 for the price of 2). Stop by Cordskinz on their website and check out their social media channels.

Winner will be selected and notified by email and have 24 hours to claim their prize. Prize valued at $19.98. Domesticating Michelle is not responsible for prize fulfillment.

Imagine Cloth Diaper Review and Giveaway

imagine header 2 Collage 2

I have tried a few all-in-one cloth diapers with mixed results over my time cloth diapering but had decided to stay with pockets. Some recent success had made me curious to try them out again. At the same time, I’ve been trying out bamboo inserts so the chance to try a bamboo all-in-one was something I couldn’t pass up. I received a bamboo all-in-one diaper from Imagine Baby Products to try out and let you know about.

First off, how cute is their Trumpet print?! I love that it is gender neutral and I enjoy the rounded style of all their prints. The colors they use have a nice, vibrant appearance. The main thing I couldn’t get over when I opened the diaper up was how soft the coordinating colored, 70% bamboo/30% cotton inside was. With 3 sizes in one diaper, this should fit 8-35 lbs.

imagine features Collage

The star of the show is the 4-layer bamboo soaker pad. It is soft and very absorbent without feeling too think or heavy. It snaps into the back of the liner so it can be taken off to wash or you can leave it on. It runs the full length of the completely unsnapped cover so it needs to be folded up when the rise is shortened. It has made getting my squirmy 7 month old spanned in to it a little tricky at times since it ends up being a little full in the front (they also come in hook and loop). However, once it’s on, it’s still pretty trim.

As I said before, it is quite absorbent but the cut of the diaper keeps everything contained. All that bamboo power does have a small price – I have found that it takes a little longer to dry after being washed compared to microfiber and fleece lined pockets. I choose to give my inserts a head start by putting them in the dryer on low before hanging any that are still damp so I have been detaching the soaker from the diaper. If you choose to leave it connected, there is one less step before and after washing and your diaper will be ready for its next use.

Speaking of prices to pay, that may be one of the best features of this diaper. For a bamboo, one-size diaper, $14.95 is a great price. You can check out the entire Imagine Baby Products line here. Matching baby leggings anyone? Use coupon code DM to get a discount on your entire purchase! (Code good through the end of May.)
