Disney Junior Live on Tour Follow Up

We were guests for Disney Junior Live On Tour! Pirate & Princess Adventure when it came to Dayton, Ohio. Kelsey loved it from the moment we got there. She enjoyed the Doc McStuffins pre-show. She was excited when Mickey and Minnie Mouse came out to start the show.

She loved seeing the characters in Sofia the First and Jake and the Never Land Pirates right in front of her and waved to them like they could see her. She enjoyed being able to sing along to the songs. I thought it was neat that pirates came into the stands to say hi and take pictures during the intermission and a few kids got to go back to the stage with them to start the second half of the show.

The show had her up on her feet and dancing along. Be sure to check out Disney Junior Live On Tour to find out when they will be visiting a city near you!

For the occasion, I made Kelsey a pillowcase dress with some Sofia the First fabric from Walmart. I used this tutorial with half a yard of the main fabric and a quarter yard of the accent fabric to make the dress portion just didn’t close the top and then used these instructions to finish the top to make it a dress. My daughter wears a size 3T and it was a little big on her, just an FYI so you can decide if you want to use more or less fabric.

Happy National Dance Day!

Happy National Dance Day, everyone. I celebrated by checking out a Babywearing Ballet class in Cincinnati, Ohio at Blue Cocoon.

Babywearing Ballet in a Catbird Baby Pikkolo

I have heard of it and it certainly looked like a good opportunity to do something for me while keeping baby close, but I still wasn’t sure what to expect. It really does make you use your core muscles and it took a little bit to figure out where my center was an extra 18 pounds on my back. Most importantly, it was nice to spend some time with other babywearing mommies and babies while doing something interesting.

Turns out the teacher of this class, Jess Elaine, who is a blogger, also teaches at a dance studio in the Dayton, Ohio suburbs so here’s hoping we can get some classes in our neck of the woods. I can’t wait to see the pictures C&T Photography took. They were all over the place with a baby on their back, too.

Today was also an excuse for a little baby/mommy time. After the class, we checked out Blue Cocoon. Really cute stuff for Mom and babies and a wall of anything breast pump and parts you could possibly need. They also have a variety of classes for parents. Talk about making breastfeeding mainstream – they’ve made it main street with “breastfeeding” and “lactation” on the windows.

We walked around a little and had a quick lunch at European Café – tasty BLT and Peach Italian Soda – before heading back home. Aubrey was a fun date and only stole a few of my chips.

My date.

The Old Ball Game with the Dayton Dragons

What is more “summer” than an afternoon at a ball game with the boys of summer?

We recently got to check out a minor league baseball game with the Dayton Dragons at Fifth Third Field here in Dayton, Ohio. We had a great time dancing in our seats to the music and cheering on the team. Of course, the highlight for my daughter was getting a huge bag of popcorn.

While we were treated to seats, the real way to go with kids is getting lawn tickets. You still get a great view of the action while kids can stretch out. There is also a A & S Play Zone with games and bounce houses if your little ones need a change of scenery.

If you have a minor league near you, I suggest looking them up. The tickets are typically very reasonable and they are small enough to have an inclusive feel. It was great to be able to go right up to the mascots.  Kids were able to give high fives to players walking by. Everyone looked like they were having a great time.

Unfortunately, it was raining off and on and when the skies opened up we decided to head out instead of waiting it out. I would definitely take my daughters back another time. With entertainment, tasty food and a great environment, this is a great way for a family to spend a summer afternoon or evening.

You can check out the Dayton Dragons here, and get more information about games, promotions and their Kids Club. The McDonald’s Friends and Family Nights look like a great deal – lawn seats are $11 and stadium seats are $15 for a ticket, McDonald’s meal voucher and Dragons hat (the next one is July 23, 2014, 7pm). There is also a Hometown Heroes Celebration Night on August 16, 2014, 7pm which will pay tribute to all service men and women associated with Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and the Springfield Air National Guard Base.

Military families:

Disney Junior Live On Tour! Pirate & Princess Adventure Giveaway (Dayton & Cincinnati, OH)

Ticket Giveaway!!

Wow! My 3 year old is going to love this show. We are a bit of a Disney family and she loves both Jake and the Never Land Pirates and Sofia the First so I know she is going to be up on her feet and singing and dancing along to the Disney Junior Live On Tour! Pirate & Princess Adventure and Doc McStuffins Pre-Show Clinic when it comes to Dayton on July 25. It will also be in Cincinnati on July 26. Visiting the characters and watching the Disney Jr. Live! Show was one of the highlights of our last trip to Walt Disney World.

In this original storyline, Mickey and Minnie lead the audience on an exciting adventure that will have families rooting for their favorite pirate, Jake, and Disney’s first little girl princess, Sofia. Disney Junior Live On Tour! Pirate & Princess Adventure begins with a special interactive pre-show featuring the loveable six-year-old doctor to toys and stuffed animals, Doc McStuffins. Children and their parents will sing the “I Feel Better” song, along with Doc as she provides tender love and care.

Audiences will then embark on a journey to the magical world of Enchancia, where Sofia, her step-siblings Amber and James, and the entire kingdom are preparing for the annual friendship festival. Sofia has the honor of delivering the perfect gift to her royal subjects at the celebration, and the one-and-only Cinderella visits the castle to help Sofia in her mission to find the right present.

The excitement continues when families cast away to Never Land where Jake and his Yo Ho pirate friends, Izzy and Cubby, are in a race against time to locate a mysterious treasure-filled volcano. Danger, thrills and adventure lurk around every turn when our swashbuckling friends battle Captain Hook for the ultimate prize. Peter Pan makes a special appearance, aiding the team in their heroic quest, and with the help of Tinker Bell’s pixie dust, Jake and his crew fly above the stage in their journey.

BabiLovLinks Child-Friendly Jewelry Review and Giveaway

babilovlinks correct Collage

Thanks for visiting my review of BabiLovLinks Child-Friendly Jewelry and welcome to the Red, White, & Blue Giveaway Blog Hop!

I am happy to share about these Made in the USA necklaces that I received to review. They  can be used as teething necklaces but I enjoy wearing it as necklace even without baby. My preschooler likes to wear it and play with it, too, with supervision. They look like the popular statement and pendant necklaces but are very functional for Mom. While I liked the artistic quality of the Mia design, I opted to try the Kara design to give my daughter something to manipulate, since the pieces come apart on the string and are easily put back together.

BabiLovLinks beads are made from high quality food grade plastics.  The beads contain no phthalates, BPAs, PVCs, lead or latex, and the pigments used in the jewelry are free of heavy metals. I like that is washes easily with soap and water and, unlike a silicone piece I have, I don’t have to worry about dust or animal fur sticking to it.

These necklaces also have a sturdy break-away clasp. I have yet to have it come off on its own while wearing it but it will pull off with pressure. It has been a great addition to the babywearing accessories. It gives baby something to safely play with and put in her mouth that doesn’t take up space and still looks cute once I have put her down. They are available in a variety of color combinations to match your wardrobe.

The best thing about them is that they are designed by Eva Murry, a grandmother of 12, family owned and operated, and completely made in the USA. Stop by BabiLovLinks and check them out today! Use code BLLBLOG2 for 10% off of a BabiLovLinks internet purchase.

Win one! Follow the link below to enter to win a BabiLovLinks necklace of your choice. Giveaway ends July 15, 2014. Your prize will be sent to you by the company. Then, keep scrolling for more information about the Red, White, & Blue Giveaway Blog Hop.
